3. Based upon 20,000 squaze feet of Type V-N, sprinklered construction, the fire flow <br />requirement is 1900 GPM. <br />4. H, dv rants - A fire hydrant is required within 200 driving feet, but not closer than 50 feet, of <br />every structure. An additional hydrant must be installed. The location of the hydrant must <br />be approved by the Fire Marshal. <br />5. PREMISE IDENTIF'ICATION AND ALL REQUIRED FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />ACCESS ROADS ANI3 FIRE HYDRANTS MIIST BE IN SERVICE PRIOR TO <br />COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. <br />6. Portable Fire Protection - A poRaUle fire extinguisher with a minimum UL rating of 2-A <br />must be provided within 75 feet travel of all port�ons of each building during construction <br />and prior to occupancy. - < <br />7. Securi Fence - Any security fense erected around the construction site must be located <br />so as to not obstruct any existing hydrant, fire protection equipment, or Fire Department <br />access. If Fire Department access is obstructed, gates or other opecungs must be provided <br />for access. <br />8. A sprinkler system complying with UBC Standard 38-1 and/or NFPA Standard 13 must <br />be provided. <br />Plans for any such system must be submitted to the Building Department and the Everett <br />Fire Department for examination and approval. Such plans must mclude plans for the <br />undergound mains that will supply the spnnkler system. <br />As of January, 1991, sprinkler system pemuts are issued by the Building Department. <br />Plan review fees are assessed by the Building Department. No fee is assessed by the Fire <br />Department. <br />Above ground sprinkler piping must be hydrostatically tested as established in NFPA <br />Standar� 13. Underground pipmg must be hydrostatically tested and flushed as <br />established in NFPS Standard 24 for private fire mains. All such tests must be witnessed <br />by a Fire Department inspector. Call 259-8710 to make an appointment for inspection. <br />Contractors' materials and test ceRificates must be submitt�ed to the Everett Fire <br />Department prior to issuance of any Certificates of Occupaiicy. <br />Call 259-8726 for more information. <br />9. Fire lanes must be provided as required in Everett Municipal Code 46.44. Fire lanes must <br />be identified by red curbs with whtte stenciling stating "NO PARKING - FIRE LANE" <br />and vertical signs stating "NO PARKING - F�TLE LANE - TOW AWAY ZONE." <br />Locations must be approved by the Fire Marshal. <br />10. When access to or within a structure or an azea is unduly difficult because of secured <br />openings or where immediate access is necessary for life saving or fire-fighting purposes, <br />the Fire Department may recommend or require a key box to be installed in an access�ble <br />location. A rapid entry system may also be desirable m order to avoid unnecessary <br />damage while making entry to any building during an emergency situation. <br />Please ca11259-8726 for further information. <br />
