All remediation work shall be in conformance with Authorities Having Jurisdiction and <br /> as directed by the Owner and coordinated with other construction activities at the work <br /> site as specified in the Work of this Contract. <br /> G. Off-Limit Areas: Do not allow unauthorized personnel to enter areas marked by I <br /> "Danger Asbestos Hazard" and other required warning labels and signage. <br /> 1.3 LEAD REMEDIATION <br /> A. The Owner has conducted a lead paint chip survey of the buildings on site. <br /> 111 <br /> 1. 'Survey samples and results are shown in the Asbestos Good Faith Inspection — <br /> Addendum #1, 08/30/17, Table #4, for The Duplex Building. <br /> 2. Based on sample results, paint coated surfaces are assumed to contain a trace <br /> amount of lead. Any level of lead in paint is regulated for worker protection in the <br /> state of Washington. <br /> B. Conduct lead hazard control activities, minimize dust and immediately clean up dust <br /> from all work activities, demolition and disposal of The Duplex Building under WAC 296 <br /> 155 17603 — 17654 LEAD IN CONSTRUCTION and the Work of this Contract. <br /> 1. Specification: Section 02 8300 LEAD REMEDIATION <br /> 2. Drawing: HZ1.01 HAZMAT COVER SHEET- GENERAL NOTES and HZ1.10 <br /> HAZMAT DUPLEX FLOOR PLANS. <br /> C. Conform to Authorities Having Jurisdiction for regulations, laws, and ordinances for ' <br /> controlled removal, handling, storage, disposal, and using initial monitoring and <br /> required personal protective equipment for worker protection. This includes taking <br /> measures to: <br /> 1. Contain paint particulates as required to prevent them from becoming airborne <br /> and escaping the work area into the environment. <br /> 2. Remediation and stabilization of deteriorated, peeling, and flaking paint, clean up <br /> damaged building materials prior to being removed, controlling dust during <br /> abatement, demolition, transport and disposal. <br /> 3. Conduct representative waste stream sampling and analysis for proper disposal <br /> using the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP test). <br /> 1.4 PCB REMEDIATION: i <br /> A. Fluorescent light fixture ballasts and tubes are presumed to contain polychlorinated ■ <br /> biphenyls (PCBs) and mercury, respectively. I <br /> B. All tubes and ballasts are to be recycled and disposed of properly by licensed vendors <br /> (e.g. Total Reclaim/Ecolights NW, or the equivalent). Follow vendors <br /> recommendations and develop a work plan that includes tracking of components using <br /> 01 3544 - 2 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PROCEDURES <br />
