City of Everett 01 4523 - 5 <br /> Evergreen Branch Library Expansion 2017-008 <br /> A. Employment of Special Inspector, Geotechnical Engineer, and other special testing <br /> and inspection agencies does not relieves Contractor of responsibility to perform Work <br /> in conformance to provisions of Contract Documents <br /> B. Cooperate with Special Inspector, Geotechnical Engineer, and other special testing <br /> and inspection agencies employed by Owner. Provide access to work at Project site <br /> and sources off site in order to expedite provisions of this Section. <br /> C. Coordinate, sequence, and schedule inspections and testing and show on Progress <br /> ' Schedule. <br /> 1. Give minimum 48 hours notice to allow time for assignment of personnel and <br /> ' scheduling of tests by testing and inspection agencies <br /> 2. Reimburse Owner for costs of travel, time and expenses incurred when <br /> inspections or tests cannot be performed after notice and arrival of testing and <br /> ' inspection personnel. <br /> D. Maintain copies of inspections, testing, and laboratory reports at Project Site as Project <br /> Record Documents. <br /> I <br /> 1.9 SCHEDULE OF SOILS AND FOUNDATIONS INSPECTIONS <br /> A. Site work foundation and soils investigations conforming to IBC Chapter 18 and as <br /> specified by individual specification Sections will be conducted by Geotechnical <br /> I Engineer. Additional testing will be performed as requested by Architect or building <br /> code official. <br /> B. Site Work including Earthwork: <br /> ' 1. Excavation of unsuitable material. <br /> 2. Testing and acceptance or rejection of on-site and imported material for use as <br /> structural fill. <br /> 3. Preparation of subgrade surfaces to receive additional fill, concrete footings, or <br /> concrete slabs. <br /> ' 4. Placement and compaction testing of structural fill. <br /> C. Soils Compaction Tests: Conform to ASTM D1557. <br /> 1 1. Compacted Fills, Subgrades, Sub-Bases, and Base Courses (Other Than Interior <br /> Concrete Slabs-On-Grade): Minimum one test per 1000 square feet for each lift. <br /> 2. Fills Under Interior Concrete Slabs-On-Grade: Minimum one test per 500 square <br /> ' feet for each lift. <br /> 3. Fills under Foundation Walls and Footings, and Backfill of Foundation Walls and <br /> Footings: Not less than one test per 100 linear feet of wall footing for each lift. <br /> D.
