The Electrical system that serves the basement area has been worked on and installed without permits and
approvals. This electrical work has numerous defects and violations some of which include but are not limited
to: incorrect grounding, GFCI and Arc fault protection missing, unsupported wiring, work covered without
inspection approval, etc. We recommend you obtain the services of a State licensed Electrical Contractor to
correct the deficiencies. Our electrical inspectors can assist your contractor in this process.
2. The Plumbing system has been worked on and substantially altered without permits and approvals. The system
has been covered and is not completely accessible for inspection. The system has numerous defects and that
can be seen, such as: incorrect venting, incorrect piping sizes, incorrect fittings.etc.We recommend that you
obtain the services of a State licensed Plumbing Contractor to help you correct the deficiencies. Our plumbing
inspectors will be available to help your contractor through this process.
3. Your Building plans indicate that some structural repairs be made to the building, including hold down
installations and shear wall construction.Your alterations also will require correct fire stop installation and other
code required improvements. All of these repairs listed above will likely require you to remove some of the wall
board that has been installed to allow for the corrections to be made and the work to be inspected. Again,We
strongly urge you to obtain the services of experienced State licensed Contractors to help you bring the property
into compliance. You may also wish to consult with your Structural Engineer to help with suggestions about
installing the structural upgrades.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to help you bring your property into compliance.
Regards,
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Division
1
