Precast Concrete Cladding Attachment to Steel Moment Frames: Reid <br /> Middleton notified Varco Pruden that the attachment of the precast panels to the <br /> steel moment frames must allow for both horizontal and vertical movement <br /> between the panels and the steel framing. If the connection does not provide <br /> adequate slippage, the panels need to be designed as shear walls with the <br /> appropriate R-value. Reid Middleton has received a preliminary detail that <br /> provides both horizontal and vertical movement and is waiting for information <br /> on building frame deflections to verify the adequacy of the detail. <br /> 2. Design of Anchor Bolts: Reid Middleton has been retained by the Owner to <br /> provide the anchor bolt design for the building,including verifying bolt <br /> diameter, steel grade, and embedment length into the concrete and any <br /> supplemental reinforcement.
