0^PIP
PUBLIC WORKS
-2, ENGINEERING /PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
May 16, 2016
Sheldon Anderson
1602 Colby Ave
Everett WA, 98201
Subject: Project: Anderson
Job Address: 1602 Colby Ave
Plan Check No: C1604-111
Dear Mr. Anderson;
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and
you are advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the reasons listed below.
These comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be
required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the
(2012 International Building Code,) (2012 International Residential Code,) as amended by the
State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2012 Edition, and adopted by the
City of Everett, unless stated otherwise.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the
corrections requested.
1. Provide height calculations for the modified structure. See the city of Everett Residential
Submittal Checklist for the requirements of the height calculations. Height calculations
shown on site plan are not consistent with the elevation drawings submitted. All
elevations should reflect the existing elevations of the existing grade at the mid-point of
the smallest rectangle that will enclose the entire structure. Check with Grace Pollard in
the planning department at 425-257-8807 for any questions pertaining to the height
calculations.
2. The roof overhang cannot be increased beyond what is certified as existing non-
conforming. The existing roof overhang is shown as 2'-6". The proposed roof overhang
is shown as 3'-0". The certification of a non-conforming building allows you to build a
new wall in line with the existing non-conforming wall and to build a new overhang in
line with the existing.
3. Winding stairs are required to be minimum 6 inches wide on the narrow side of the
tread, and minimum 10"wide at a point 12 inches from the narrow side.
//3)
CITY OF EVERETT•3200 Cedar Street• Everett, WA 98201•(4425) 257-8200• Fax (425) 257-8856
cdir...,,.,,...drl.,,,,n'lu.,it,,cnn iii /Ycn7 r..iti..n...,\.t..,.
