4. The space designated as"Office"does not meet the minimum requirements for a <br /> habitable space. All habitable rooms shall have a floor area of not less than 70 square <br /> feet (6.5 m2). Habitable rooms shall not be less than 7 feet (2134 mm) in any horizontal <br /> dimension. <br /> 5. Rigid insulation on the exterior of a foundation that is exposed is required to be <br /> protected from exposure to ultra-violet light and from impact. Provide detail for <br /> protection of rigid insulation that is above grade. <br /> Detail #2 on Sheet DT1.0 shows rigid insulation on the exterior of the existing concrete <br /> basement wall extending from the top of the concrete wall to the bottom of the new <br /> concrete wall under the existing concrete wall, this would require the entire perimeter of <br /> the dwelling to be excavated to the level of the new footings under the existing <br /> foundation for the installation of insulation on the exterior of the basement. <br /> 6. In combustible construction, fireblocking shall be provided to cut off all concealed draft <br /> openings (both vertical and horizontal) and to form an effective fire barrier between <br /> stories, and between a top story and the roof space. Provide fireblocking in required <br /> locations, show on section drawings. <br /> 7. Vaulted ceilings are required to be insulated with minimum R-38 insulation with a <br /> minimum 1 inch clear space over insulation for ventilation. 2x8 rafters do not provide <br /> sufficient depth for R-38 insulation. <br /> 8. Show interior finish on section drawings at the proposed roof structure. Show required <br /> 1 inch air space over insulation. <br /> 9. Provide roof ventilation calculation. Show size and location of roof ventilation. <br /> 10.The elevation drawings do not match the floor plans. Revise elevations to be consistent <br /> with the floor plans submitted. <br /> 11. Provide building section drawing looking north or south through the building. Show <br /> crawl space, basement, main floor, upper floor and new covered deck in section. <br /> 12. Show how covered deck is provided with drainage. If roof drains are present, overflow <br /> drains are required. <br /> 13. Show how existing fireplace foundation will be supported at new excavation. <br /> 14. Specify window well requirements on drawings. Provide section view at window well. <br /> 15.The legend on the"L"sheets states"unless noted otherwise shear wall panels nailed per <br /> shear wall detail 1 on sheet DT1.0". The detail on sheet DT1.0 is a "Eave End section <br /> Detail", not a shear wall detail.
