I <br /> SECTION 00100 <br /> INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS <br /> 1. INSPECTION OF WORK SITE <br /> Bidders shall inspect the site of the work and review the plans and specifications to satisfy themselves,by <br /> personal examination,physical testing,or by such other means as they may prefer,of the location of the <br /> proposed work,the actual physical conditions of and at the site,surface and subsurface conditions,and <br /> conditions ordinarily to be encountered and generally recognized as inherent in the work. If,during the course <br /> or as a result of such inspection,examination and testing,a bidder finds facts or conditions which appear to <br /> conflict or are omitted from the Contract Documents,or with any other data or material made available relating <br /> to the work,bidder shall so notify the Owner/Engineer in writing,and may apply to the Owner/Engineer for <br /> additional information and explanation before submitting their bid. <br /> The submission of a bid by the bidder shall constitute acknowledgment that,in preparing and submitting a bid, <br /> bidder has not only reviewed the Contract Documents,but is also relying on their own knowledge, <br /> g , <br /> examination,inspection,and testing of(1)the site of the work,(2)access to the site,(3)environmental factors, <br /> (4)all other data,matters and things requisite to the fulfillment of the work,(5)conditions ordinarily to be <br /> encountered and generally recognized as inherent in the work,and(6)existing and available services and <br /> utilities at and in the vicinity of the site of the work. Bidder acknowledges that he/she has not relied on any <br /> representation or warranty of the Owner not included in the Contract Documents. <br /> The information provided by the Owner is not intended to be a substitute for,or a supplement to the <br /> independent verification by the bidder to the extent such independent investigation of the drawings and <br /> specifications or site conditions is deemed necessary or desirable by the bidder. Bidder acknowledges that they <br /> have not relied upon Owner-or Engineer-furnished information regarding site conditions in preparing and <br /> submitting a bid hereunder. <br /> 2. GEOTECHNICAL AND ENVIROMENTAL INFORMATION <br /> Geotechnical investigations were conducted at the Everett Riverfront Surcharge Phase 3 site and in preparation <br /> for this project. These include: <br /> Surcharge Evaluation—Landfill Site,Everett Riverfront Redevelopment Project, Everett, Washington, <br /> January 14, 2008 by GeoEngineers <br /> Copies of these reports are available from the Owner. <br /> The Owner and the Engineer do not represent that the reports show completely all the existing subsurface <br /> conditions,and do not guarantee any interpretation of the reports or the correctness of any information included <br /> in the Contract Documents relative to subsurface conditions. Bidders and the Contractor must assume all <br /> responsibility for deductions and conclusions which may be made as to the nature of the materials to be <br /> excavated,the difficulties of making and maintaining the required excavation,the performance of the ground <br /> improvements,and of doing other work affected by subsurface conditions at the Project site. <br /> 3. EXAMINATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND REGULATIONS <br /> Bidders shall satisfy themselves as to the construction conditions by personal examination of the plans, <br /> specifications and site of the proposed improvements and by other examination and investigation,which they <br /> may wish to make as to the nature of the project and the conditions that may be encountered. <br /> a. Carefully examined the Contract Documents. <br /> b. visited the site of the work and examined the site and any buildings or structures which may be involved <br /> in this Contract. <br /> c. Included in the proposal sufficient sums to cover all items required by Contract documents. <br /> d. Reviewed and inspected all applicable federal,state and local statutes,ordinances,and regulations <br /> dealing with building,public health and safety,or with the prevention of environmental pollution and the <br /> 00100-1 <br />
