G.52 5N /NER
Civil d Structural Challenge 4 Success
August 3, 2017
Ms. Meg Haley
Building Plans Examiner — Plan Review Architect
City of Everett Public Works
3200 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
RE: Permit#: BW1706-005
Project Address: 1301 LOMBARD AVE
Project Name: Waits Motel Interior Remodel
Dear Ms. Haley,
Per request from owner, Mr. Lee, CS2 Engineers visited the job site on June 21, 2017 for removal
of interior wall at caretaker apartment (aka Office). We also reviewed permit set drawings (dated
June 27, 2017) and verified that the proposed removal of interior wall and steel pipe at caretaker
apartment is NOT a bearing wall nor supports any existing structure above (refer to Partial Demo
Plan, sheet A 1.01). The existing roof rafters and ceiling joist are running parallel to interior wall,
which is non-loadbearing wall. We conclude that it is safe to remove the interior wall at caretaker
apartment.
We have not visited other motel rooms for interior wall removal, and confirmed that GC is not
planning to remove walls at other motel rooms. If interior walls at other motel rooms removed, it is
subject to inspected and we are not responsible for any damage or defect from removal of those
walls.
We trust the above responses will be satisfactory to you and concerning all the matters. If you
require any additional information, please contact us at 425-408-2748.
Respectfully Submitted, G d
6 dt
Sung U.
