Meg Haley
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Wednesday, August 02, 2017 4:01 PM
To: 'langrydude@hotmail.com'
Cc: Kelsey Heyd;Terri Jorgenson;Tony Lee; Paul McKee;James Bronder
Subject: Status of permit review for BW1706-005 1301 LOMBARD AVE
Hi Mr. Lee,
I spoke to you this morning about the drawings submitted for permit. This permit application shows the
removal of walls from several motel rooms and from the caretaker apartment.
1. We will need written documentation from a professional engineer what outcome the removal of these
walls and their supporting structure has on the existing structure, if anything. You can submit that by e-
mail to me directly. It should have the signature and signed stamp of the engineer offering the opinion,
as well as be on the engineering office letterhead, including location and contact information.
I spoke to the Everett Planner today, Kelsey Heyd, to let her know that you would be following up with her to
find out the status of zoning compliance. Kelsey can be reached by e-mail at khevdeverettwa.qov or by
phone at 425-257-7275,
Without having yet done the plan review or historical research, I would in general say that removal of walls built
without permits should be a straightforward plan review that would not trigger new code requirements.
1. If those walls are selected to remain, then we will have to review the application for compliance with
current codes.
2. If you should change your mind on the scope of work submitted for permit, we would rather know
sooner than later. You can e-mail me the revised sheets, and please bubble or cloud the areas of
revision from what we currently have.
I will contact you on Friday after I have done the research on the property and spoken to the Inspector that
posted the stop work.
iM
Meg Haley, RA• Building Plans Examiner-Plan Review Architect• Everett Public Works,3200 Cedar St., Everett,WA 98201 •425-
257-8813 • mhaley@everettwa.gov• everettwa.gov/permits
1
