A nwnUcr 10 copper u�aca wire is required for po]yethylene pipe. A�l service lines <br />3 mches and larger shall he cement lined ductile iron pipe from the main to the meter. <br />All service connecuon pipiig within the public right-of-way shall be a minimum of 30 inches below the <br />finish grade surface. For fiirther details on services and hook-ups, see Standazd Nos. 502A and 502H. <br />On services installed in co�ijunction with new watcr mains, it is required that the services be installed <br />from the main to the permanent curb stop and be subjected to purity and hydrostatic testing wich the new <br />water main as detailed in Sections 5-1�. and 5-15. <br />5-9.2 MATER3ALS <br />Copper tubing shall conforni to the requirements of ASTM B88, Type B, annealed. The tubing shall b� <br />coupled using flare-type con�pression fittings conforming to the requiremen�s of AWR'A C800, minimum <br />150 psi worldng pressure. <br />Pclyethylene rubing shall conform to tlie requirements of AWWA C901. The pipe shall bear the seal of <br />the Narional Sanitarion Foui�dation for potaUle water pipe. Pipe joinu shall be made in accordaDce with <br />tbe manufatturer's recommendations. Solvent welded pipe joints will noc be nermiaed. Ivlinimum <br />worldng pressure shall be lii0 psi. 2" service shall be copper tube size (CT5), 'k" and 1" service shall <br />be iron pipe size (IPS). <br />Ductile iron pipe shzll coafo:rm to the requirements shown in Section 5-6.2 of these Standaids. <br />5-9.3 CONNECTIOr'S <br />Service connections on 4 inc,h ducrile iren ,nains or for any service 2 inches or larger shall be installed <br />witL Mueller, Rockwell, Romac or approved equal pipe saddles. birect taps may be ma�ie for 3/4 inch <br />and 1 inct� services on ducul�_ iron pipe 6 inch I.D. or larger.
