The unit price per ton for crushed surfacing base course shall be full compensation for all labor, compaction, material, incidentals, tools, and equipment necessary to furnish, haul, stockpile, place, grade, and compact imported crushed surfacing base course for the work as required, ' from a Contractor supplied source in accordance with the Standard Specifications, Special Provisions and these specifications. ' The unit price for crushed surfacing base course also includes all costs for controlling moisture content. Also included in this bid item shall be the cost of grader work, or any other equipment required to remove existing soils to attain proper elevations, compaction of native subgrade soils, as well as all equipment required to spread and compact the crushed surfacing uniformly. During dry periods, the Engineer may require water sprinkling prior to placement of the crushed surfacing and while spreading and compacting the material. The cost of such sprinkling shall be included in the unit price bid for crushed surfacing. Measurement for crushed surfacing base course shall be limited to dimensions defined in the ' work descriptions for other bid items, shown on the plans, details or Standard Plans or as otherwise approved by the Engineer. Measurement for Crushed Surfacing Base Course shall be made for pipe zone bedding for combined sewer pipe, storm drain pipe, side sewer connections and for the preparation of bases for manhole structures, catch basins and inlets and for all other Work identified on the Plans, details and COE Standard Drawings. Crushed Surfacing Base Course material placed shall not exceed "neatline" quantities without advance authorization by the inspector. Payment for crushed surfacing g base course will be by the ton as recorded on certified weight tickets per Section 1-09.1 and as approved by the Inspector. Bid Items A-17 and B-17- HMA - CL 1/2"PG 64-?2 ' Specification Section 5-04 Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Ton 1 The unit price per ton for HMA - CL 1/2"PG 64-22 shall be full compensation for permanent machine-placed asphalt concrete pavement surfaces including streets, alleys, street overlays, street crossings, and driveway aprons as shown on the Contract Plans. This bid item should be ' used for machine-placed asphalt pavement work where indicated on the plans. Only solo dump trucks may be used in the area of the project. ' The unit price for this bid item shall include ail labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to furnish, machine-place, compact, roll and perform density tests on single or multiple lifts of HMA-CL %2"PG 64-22. A nominal compacted lift of HMA- CL 1/2"PG 64-22 shall not exceed 0.30-feet.
