I The unit price bid per cubic yard for Controlled Density Fill (CDF) shall constitute full compensation for all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary and incidental to furnish, deliver, and place the CDF in accordance with the Standard Specifications, Special Provisions and Contract Plans. CDF shall be used for backfill at locations defined by Section 7-08.3(3) of the Special , Provisions. Where CDF is used in lieu of other materials such as foundation material, gravel borrow, washed sand or crushed surfacing top course, the respective limits for trench width or backfill dimensions shall be approved by the Engineer. Bid Items A-15 and B-15— CRUSHED SURFACING TOP COURSE Specification Section 4-04 1 Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Ton The unit price per ton for crushed surfacing top course shall be full compensation for all labor, material, incidentals, tools, and equipment necessary to furnish, haul, stockpile, place, grade, and compact imported crushed surfacing top course for the work as required, from a Contractor supplied source in accordance with the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. Only solo dump trucks may be used in the area of the project. I The unit price for crushed surfacing top course also includes all costs for controlling moisture content. ' Also to be included in this bid item shall be the cost of grader work, or any other equipment required to remove existing soils to attain proper elevations, as well as all equipment required to spread and compact the crushed surfacing uniformly. During dry periods, the Engineer may require water sprinkling prior to placement of the crushed , surfacing and while spreading and compacting the material. The cost of such sprinkling shall be included in the unit price bid for Crushed surfacing. Measurement for Crushed Surfacing Top Course shall be by the ton, recorded on certified weight tickets per Section 1-09.1 for Crushed Surfacing Top Course placed within the limits of 111dimensions defined in the Work, descriptions for other Bid Items, shown on the Plans, details or COE Standard Drawings, or as otherwise approved by the Engineer. Crushed Surfacing Top Course material placed shall not exceed "neatline" quantities without advance authorization by the Inspector. , Payment for Crushed Surfacing Top Course will be by the ton as recorded on certified weight tickets per Section 1-09.1 and as approved by the Inspector.
