from federal activities through constant updates and briefing memorandums for the Mayor and her staff. 13.Promote the City of Everett's vital contributions to the Puget Sound region's economy, strength and diversity with the Washington State congressional delegation,federal agencies, national organizations,and the Washington state community in the nation's capital. Holland&Knight will work with the City to help create a compelling narrative about the City's priorities and help tell the"Everett story." We will ensure that the City's messaging and communication strategies make Everett's priorities resonate with Congress and the Administration. One way that we could highlight the City's contributions is by organizing a fly-in with key City stakeholders to highlight how the City benefits the region-and the nation. For example,we have worked with the City of Sacramento to organize a fly-in with their Asian-Pacific Chamber of Commerce. The fly-in highlights the contributions of Asian-Pacific businesses to the City-and the country. We have focused on meetings with the Sacramento delegation and key agencies dealing with trade, including the Department of Commerce and the U.S.Trade Representative. The fly-in has been an excellent way for Mayor Darrell Steinberg to showcase the City's entrepreneurism and contributions to the region. 14.Collaborate with other cities,the U.S.Conference of Mayors and National League of Cities on issues of mutual interest,and build coalitions with other stakeholders as needed. As with the U.S.Conference of Mayors,Holland&Knight is a member of the National League of Cities. In fact,Clarence Anthony,the executive director of the National League of Cities,is a former Holland&Knight employee. In addition,as previously mentioned,the National League of Cities is our current partner as part of a campaign we just launched: Mayors and CEOs for U.S.Housing Investment. Our strong relationships with these and other stakeholder groups are important because Holland&Knight often uses coalitions to advance the agendas of our clients-and the National League of Cities and U.S.Conference of Mayors are two of many groups that we turn to for help. 15.Assist with all arrangements for the Mayor,City Council,and City staff when visiting Washington D.C.,and other cities,including coordinating meetings with federal leaders, reviewing talking points and supporting materials,etc. Holland&Knight will make all arrangements necessary for the City to send delegations to Washington,D.C.,and key national conferences. We will: » Arrange meetings with House and Senate members and their staff,the White House,and key federal department and agency officials to advance Everett's objectives,as well as arrange meetings with key national organizations,stakeholders,and think tanks to work in partnership on issues important to the City. » Assist with advance work,including developing talking points,briefing materials,position papers,and justification packets.
