These comments address building issues only, additional <br />revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning <br />or Fire). All references refer to the 1991 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the <br />State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1991, 2nd Edition, unless <br />stated otherwise. <br />1. All buildings and additions or alterations to buildings over 4,000 square <br />feet require the plans and specificatins to be prepared by an architect <br />currently licensed to practice in the State of Washington, RCW 18.08. <br />2. Exits are required to have a minimum separatin of one-half the <br />maximum diagonal of the building or area served measured in a straight <br />line between exits, Section 3303(c). This item applies to the third floor <br />conf/break area. The kitchen area must have an exit independant of the <br />folding partition. <br />3. Exit doors must swing in the direction of exit travel. Section 3304(b). <br />4. Stairways are required to be enclosed as specified in Section 3309. <br />5. Interior openings into corridors are required to be protected as set forth <br />in Section 3305(h). Self -closing or automatic closing twenty -minute <br />rated door assemblies properly gasketed should be provided.
