I have only met this person 1 time. He was curious if I was going to live in the house or rent the house. When I
told him I would like to rent the house out, he&his wife were extremely upset.
They don't want renters moving in and ruining their neighborhood.
My intention was to fix up the place and rent the upstairs to my Sister and the basement to our single architect
friend.
The neighbor called the city and has made several complaints all over the neighborhood.
The Everett official Jeff went to 3421 Tulalip Avenue after having been called by the neighbor and he took a
tour on Feb 22, 2017.
I wasn't there nor was my spouse.
Jeff evidentally asked my handyman if he could make an inspection.
I got a Stop Work notice and was warned that I was not in compliance with the city.
I went to the planning department and submitted my application and drawings by the architect and a site plan
that I drew.
This official, Jeff, denied the application.
I had to find&hire a local professional draftsperson or architect to draw the site plan.
The firm RAD on Colby said they could submit a plan and obtain the permit.
I had to wait a month for their scheduled availability.
I paid RAD $1750.00 for this site plan
drawings and $413.00 for the permit. This is in addition to the $4,500.00 for the "As Is" architectural drawings
done by architect Art Peterson.
This house was built in 1930 but had an addition added in 1987.
I now have an additional $2800.00 permit fee to pay in order to start my project.
Please take the time to review the permit history and account for the estimated hike in permit fee.
3421 Tulalip is historical and beautiful. I want to make it energy efficient and safe as well.
I don't have a history of doing any work without proper permits.
I have had experience in Skagit County and am a property owner of a few homes that are in very good to
excellent condition that I use as rental income property.
My tenants have enjoyed the homes and have been satisfied with my management and style.
If I sell this house, I want the new owners to have a good sound home that will require less energy and will
maximize their investment as well.
Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions.
Than you,
MaryJayne Wiles
(360) 540 5778
Sent from my T-Mobile 46 LTE Device
