B. I did not purchase a permit to install or change the electrical in the building, nor
did I purchase or request a permit to inspect the building. The living room and kitchen area of apt B was
inspected on 1/15/16 and signed safe with a note regarding exposed romex. We have since reinstalled
the T-grid ceiling eliminating the exposed romex wiring.
It was observed that some outlets have not been provided in required locations of the kitchen in this
unit and that GFCI protection is not installed. We have removed the bar and sink from this area.
During the inspection a request to inspect the electrical service panel for this unit and other portions of
this unit was made, this request was denied. The electrical inspection that I requested was to confirm
that the electrical wiring was safe in the living room and kitchen area of apt. B. I did not request an
inspection for any other area. There is no mention of the electrical panel or any other location in or
around the building in the Violation Citation.
The person you assigned to allow access to the building indicated that approval for access to these
portions of the building had not been granted by the owner. The Violation Citation that I have received
is for the living room and kitchen area of apt. B.There is no mention of any other location in or around
the building in Violation Citation.
Access to this electrical panel and other areas of the building where electrical and other code concerns
are present is necessary to determine the safety of the structure for the occupants. The Violation
Citation case#CE15-1187 that I received is for the living room and kitchen area of apt. B.There are no
other code concerns stated in the Violation Citation .
It should be mentioned here that the exterior siding of the building has deterioration in numerous
locations and lacks suitable protective treatment. Portions of the roof over the garage of the building
are deteriorated when viewed from the city sidewalk. These conditions are code violations. The roof and
2 3
