DESIGN`
C%.--1 j' ‘1't C FIELD REP. f.
Project Name: Everett River Front-Simpson I Report: 047
GeoDesign#: Polygon-127-03 Date: 06/9/2017
Reports with Unresolved Nonconformance Issues: Permit:
PW1505-005
Nick Abdelnour(Polygon) Randy Allen(City of Everett) Weather: Cloudy, 60's
Ron Bowen(Polygon) Eddy Stevens(Polygon) Arrival/Departure: 1500/1630
Distribution:
Doug Ross(Polygon) Kirk Keck(City of Everett)
Paul McKee(City of Everett) Dave Foster(City of Everett) Prepared By: Ben Weinberg
Attachments: m Site Plan(s) m Density Test Summary Signature: (44,,4
❑ Installation Records m Other Reviewed By: RL
PURPOSE of VISIT: GeoDesign representative, Ben Weinberg, was on-site part time at the request of Craig with DDS to
observe the foundation subgrade for Lots 263 to 266.
SUMMARY of OBSERVATIONS:
LOT 263:
Today, GeoDesign noted that Craig with DDS had completed excavation of the foundation and crawl space area for Lot 263
to approximately 6 inches below plan bottom of footing. GeoDesign noted that the exposed foundation subgrade material
consisted of a brown to gray brown silty SAND with gravel which could generally be probed less than 2 inches using a 1/2
inch diameter soil probe. Relative compaction of the exposed foundation subgrade material was tested using a Troxler
Moisture-Density gauge; in-place density tests indicated that the material had been compacted to greater than 95%of its
maximum dry density as determined by a Modified Proctor analysis. GeoDesign notified Craig with DDS that the foundation
subgrade area observed today is currently suitable for placement of backfill material.
LOT 264:
Today, GeoDesign noted that Craig with DDS had completed excavation of the foundation and crawl space area for Lot 264
to approximately 1 foot below plan bottom of footing. GeoDesign noted that the exposed foundation subgrade material
consisted of a gray-brown to gray silty SAND with gravel which could generally be probed less than 3 inches using a 1/2
inch diameter soil probe.
LOT 265:
Today, GeoDesign noted that Craig with DDS had completed excavation of the foundation and crawl space area for Lot 265
to approximately 1.5 to 2.0 feet below plan bottom of footing. GeoDesign noted that the exposed foundation subgrade
material consisted of a gray silty SAND with gravel which could generally be probed less than 2 inches using a 1/2 inch
diameter soil probe with probing depths of approximately 6 inches near the center of the lot(in area over-excavated 2 feet
and appeared to be associated with high moisture content of material) Relative compaction of the exposed foundation
subgrade material was tested using a Troxler Moisture-Density gauge; in-place density tests indicated that the material had
been compacted to greater than 95% of its maximum dry density as determined by a Modified Proctor analysis. GeoDesign
notified Craig with DDS that the foundation subgrade area observed today is currently suitable for placement of backfill
material.
This report presents opinions formed as a result of our observation of activities relating to geotechnical engineering or environmental services. We rely on the contractor to comply with the plans and
specifications throughout the duration of the project irrespective of the presence of our representative. Our work does not include supervision or direction of the contractor, the contractor's employees
or agents. Our firm is not responsible for site safety. This field report is a DRAFT representation of our field observations, testing, and preliminary recommendations.
