Three mod�el building code groups have historically served the United States; BOCA <br />in the northeast, Stand� d in the south and Unifomt Building Code in thc tvest. The three <br />groups merged to form t�e ICC. The 2000 TBC is thc inaugural code that consolidates the - <br />requirements, history, and callective lrnowledge base of the thtee groups into a singlr code. : <br />The Washington /+ssociation of Building Ofticials (WABO) is the professional organization <br />representing the C'hief Building Officials for all jurisdictions around the State of �yashington. <br />WABO has issued a Policy Statement recommending that its members accept the provisions of <br />the IBC as being an equivalent altemative to thc curent WSBC that is bnsed upon the 1997 <br />UBC.
