Either occupancy type represents a change of use. A Certificate of Occupancy is required for continued
occupancy of the structure. Additional code requirements include:
• The maximum distance to an exit within the space may not exceed 75 feet.
• All exit doors must swing in the direction of egress travel and be provided with panic hardware.
• Exit signs and egress lighting are required.
• Two separate toilet rooms are required, male and female and each are required to be
accessible.
• Construction plans and details for the mezzanine and stairs are required to be submitted for
review.
Permit Procedure
It is highly suggested that a pre-application meeting be scheduled to discuss the issues related to the
property and the permit requirements. I am available to arrange the meeting and may be reached
directly at (425) 257-8812. •
In order to secure permits for the structure, plans are required in accordance with permit and plan
review submission requirements that may be found at Everettwa.gov or at 3200 Cedar Street. Required
permits for this use include building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical. Permits may only be issued to
building owners, licensed contractors or building tenants with the written permission from the building
owner.
Until a Certificate of Occupancy is secured, the occupancy of the space must be kept to a maximum of
49 persons at any given time. Thank you for your prompt cooperation and responsiveness.
Sincerely,
.0"<feW
1..66
Building Official
City of Everett
(425)257_8812
CC:
Code Enforcement
Fire Marshal
Planning
City Clerk
