CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1-08.4(3)A Special Construction Constraints - Trenching <br /> a. Limit of two main-line trenching crews at any one time. The City, at its sole <br /> discretion, may allow additional crews, if logistical considerations and <br /> community impacts are appropriately mitigated. <br /> ' b. Limit open trench for any one line to 50 feet, maximum. <br /> c. Stockpiling of spoils or imported materials onsite overnight is not permitted. <br /> d. All spoils material must be hauled away from the site. <br /> 1-08.4(3)B Special Construction Constraints-Traffic Control <br /> City may approve full block street closures as part of Contractor's Temporary <br /> Traffic Control Plan, as long as no more than two consecutive blocks are closed at <br /> ' a time along Alverson/Grand Ave. Maintain pedestrian access during full block <br /> closures. Temporary roadway and sidewalk patching shall be completed prior to <br /> re-opening a closed block of street. <br /> ' Upon completion of pipe installation and trench backfilling to specifications, <br /> promptly restore street, driveway and sidewalk surfaces and permit public use and <br /> access for City inspection activities. <br /> ' Parking spaces are normally very limited in most areas of the project and the <br /> Contractor will be required to cooperate with the City in resolving parking issues. In <br /> general, businesses and residents who rely on on-street parking and are displaced <br /> by the construction shall be given priority for the nearest available parking location. <br /> The Contractor's employees may be required to park their personal vehicles away <br /> from the area of construction. <br /> ' 1-08.5 Time for Completion <br /> Delete all of 1-08.5 and substitute the following: <br /> 1-08.5(1) General <br /> The Contractor shall complete all physical Contract Work within the number of <br /> 'working days" stated in the Contract Provisions or as extended by the Engineer in <br /> accordance with Section 1-08.8. Every day will be counted as a "working day" <br /> unless it is a nonworking day or an Engineer determined unworkable day. A <br /> nonworking day is defined as a Saturday, a Sunday, a whole or half day on which <br /> the Contract specifically prohibits Work on the critical path of the Contractor's <br /> ' approved progress schedule, or one of these holidays: January 1, the third <br /> Monday of January, the third Monday of February, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor <br /> Day, November 11, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas <br /> Day. When any of these holidays fall on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be <br /> ' counted a nonworking day. When the holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding <br /> Friday shall be counted a nonworking day. The days between December 25 and <br /> January 1 will be classified as nonworking days. <br /> ' An unworkable day is defined as a half or whole day the Engineer declares to be <br /> unworkable because of weather or conditions caused by the weather that <br /> prevents satisfactory and timely performance of the Work shown on the critical <br /> path of the Contractor's approved progress schedule. Other conditions beyond the <br /> control of the Contractor may qualify for an extension of time in accordance with <br /> Section 1-08.8. <br /> ' Contract Time shall begin on the effective date of the Notice to Proceed.
