INTERWEST
CONSTRUCTION
INC.
February 22"d,2019 COP 015 REV1
Ken Kettel,Resident Engineer
KBA/City of Everett
3101 Cedar Street
Everett,WA 98201
RE: COP 015:LO1 Fixture Change and System Revisions-REVISED
Grand Ave Pedestrian Bridge/PW 3588
Dear Ken:
Interwest Construction,Inc. (Interwest)is providing this revised Change Order Proposal(COP)as
discussed to propose a revised LO1 rail light system with changed fixtures and associated system
revisions. Interwest does not believe the original Plans for the rail lighting system was clear enough
to show how the system was to be installed. In attempting to clarify the designed system,it became
apparent LED technology has advanced in the years since the Plans were assembled, and the system
specified may no longer be the best system for this application. In addition to technology
advancements, members of the City's project team verified that the specified LO1 system may be
prone to maintenance issues further detracting from the Plan system.
Through multiple meetings and iterations since early 2018,Interwest and our subcontractor Electric
West have worked with the City's Resident Engineer,Electrical Engineer, and Architect as well as
multiple vendors to re-design the rail lighting system around updated LO1 LED fixtures. The new
system addressed by this proposal fully replaces the current design and creates a complete,
functional system with durable fixtures, dimmable zones, and custom mounting to address aesthetic
requirements of the installation. This process has been lengthy, intensive, and required
considerable efforts on the part of Interwest and Electric West to address nuances of this system
not covered by the Plans or City's Engineer. Interwest and Electric West believe the requested
markups are commensurate with the invested level of effort.
Interwest proposes to provide additional labor, equipment, and materials as detailed below to
address the added work requested:
• Supply and install BOCA HPNFC-HO LO1 LED fixtures instead of LED tape light. The
proposal attached includes 1,350 LF of LO1 fixtures shown on E1.01 to E1.03.
o Additional footage up to 200 LF may be added at the per LF material cost listed
below. If added, Interwest will forgo Prime Contractor's markup on additional
footage as there will be little required of Interwest for such added work. See
Clarifications below.
• Supply and install of Creston Control panel to incorporate all revisions.
• Changes per Stantec revised Plan sheets dated 8/8/2018
• Other work as specified in Electric West Change Order Proposal(included)
Interwest's proposed price includes the following clarifications:
• This proposal replaces COP 015 rev 0 Dated December 27,2018 in its entirety.
609 N.Hill Blvd.I Burlington,WA 98233
www.interwest.biz
Ph: (360)757-7574 Fax:(360)757-7574
Contractor License INTERCII21OF
1 of 2
