5. Paid classes(Thursday-Saturday)will taught by experienced and highly notable teachers. Students will learn <br /> new techniques,join in the free demonstrations and/or"Make it&Take it"opportunities. <br /> 6. Leadership Summit Breakfast is aimed at networking, educating and fostering partnership of all guild <br /> leadership in order bring health, cohesiveness and vibrancy so that they can continue to bring in national <br /> speakers and teachers to our area. <br /> Measures: <br /> Project success will be measured by <br /> 1. Attendance numbers, ticket sales to our evening events, vendor sales and number of students in classes. <br /> 2. Our registration software will track guests zip code so we can gauge our out of town appeal. <br /> 3. We will follow up with the hotels involved to give us their numbers for overnight stays <br /> 4. We will creatively survey our guests within our viewers choice ballots. <br /> These numbers and feedback cues will be key to providing adequate event enhancements for our future events. <br /> Background: <br /> Quilts are no longer just bed coverings made from scraps. They are well designed,thoughtful works of art, <br /> ranging from bed quilts to wall hangings.Wearable art is included, along with accessories and many other items. In <br /> order to display quilts to the best advantage,these works of art hang on a standard pipe system with white drape, <br /> giving the quilts a professional and elegant background on which to shine. <br /> Nationally,there are estimated 8-10 million quilters in the United States. In Snohomish County alone,there are <br /> thousands of quilters.Additionally. Washington state has been a driving force in the quilting world for over 30 years, <br /> touting several significant quilt related businesses and national and international award winners. Overall, quilters spent <br /> $3.74 billion in 2017 according to the 2017 survey commissioned by Quilts; Inc. of Houston, Texas. <br /> Annually, tens of thousands of people attend <br /> quilt events around the nation. Locally; approximately • <br /> 3,500 attend the Quilter's Anonymous show in Monroe; <br /> 8,000 go to Northwest Expo in Portland and 10,000 to <br /> Sew Expo in Puyallup.
