(c) Upon and after revocation of appointment by the Chief of Police for failure to abide by the <br /> requirements of the City Charter or this chapter, the failure to perform faithfully the duties of his <br /> employment, or for any cause deemed sufficient by the Chief of Police in his discretion; <br /> (d)After the expiration of one year from the date of the appointment or any renewal thereof. <br /> The Chief of Police shall in writing notify the special policeman of the voiding or <br /> invalidating of his appointment,but his failure to so notify the appointee, or of the appointee to <br /> receive the notification shall have no effect on the voiding or invalidating of the appointment. <br /> Any appointment about to expire by reason of lapse of time may be renewed by the Chief <br /> of Police; provided,that the appointee shall make application therefor to the Chief prior to such <br /> expiration and upon showing to the satisfaction of the Chief that the appointee is and will be <br /> actually engaged in Special Police Service in the City and that he has performed his duties as a <br /> Special Policeman satisfactorily. <br /> Section 7: Uniform <br /> Any person appointed as a Special Policeman under the provisions of this chapter may, at <br /> his election, wear a uniform upon receiving the consent and approval of the Chief of Police <br /> thereto, but no uniform so worn shall be so similar to any uniform worn by a regular policeman <br /> as to be confusing or misleading, and no uniform shall be worn by any Special Policeman except <br /> such as is approved by the Chief of Police as to style, color and material. <br /> Section 8: Appointments under prior ordinance - Void <br /> All appointments of Special Policeman heretofore made under the provisions of any prior <br /> ordinance of the City of Everett shall be and become void and of no effect as of the effective date <br /> of this ordinance. <br /> Section 9: <br /> As of the effective date of this ordinance, Ordinance No. 3370, Sections 1-12 (E.C.C. <br /> Chapter 4.58)is hereby repealed and of no further force and effect. <br /> Be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Limited Commission Officers. <br /> The chief of police may issue a limited commission to persons whenever such limited <br /> commission will serve and assist the police department in maintaining adequate police protection <br /> and other law enforcement services including, but not limited to,providing support to the <br /> department and the issuance of civil infractions. Each limited commission will specifically state <br /> the ordinances for which the holder may issue citations for civil infractions, and limited <br /> commission officers shall have those limited enforcement powers as are specifically designated <br /> in the appointment by the chief of police. <br /> The chief of police shall determine the standards for the selection and training specific to the <br /> limited commission being granted; and shall be responsible for developing rules and regulations <br />
