Section 4: Limitation of Authority <br /> A special policeman appointed pursuant to this ordinance shall have the same authority as <br /> regular police officers of the City of Everett, which police authority shall be limited as follows: <br /> (a) The territorial authority of such policeman shall be limited to the property on which the <br /> employer's business is located and public streets adjacent thereto. <br /> (b) The special policeman's authority shall be limited to the assigned hours such policeman is <br /> employed for his employer. <br /> (c) The above limitations of a special policeman's police authority may only be extended to <br /> other times and places upon written authorization of the Chief of Police, or his designee. <br /> Section 5: Insurance and Indemnity Agreement <br /> (a) Insurance <br /> The employer of each such special policeman shall file with the City Clerk the policy or policies <br /> of false arrest insurance, approved as to sufficiency by the City Clerk, issued by an insurance <br /> company or companies authorized to do business in the State of Washington, providing <br /> indemnity for and protection to the City of Everett in the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars <br /> ($500,000.00) for each person; One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for each incident and One <br /> Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) in the aggregate. <br /> Each such policy of insurance shall continue in the full amount thereof notwithstanding any <br /> recovery thereon and shall provide that the liability of the insurer shall not be affected by the <br /> insolvency or bankruptcy of the insured. The policy shall be for the benefit of any and all <br /> judgment creditors. Each insurance policy required hereunder shall extend for the period the <br /> special policeman maintains his status as such policeman and the insurer shall be obligated to <br /> give not less than ten (10) days' written notice to the City Clerk in the event of any change or <br /> cancellation. <br /> (b) Indemnity Agreement. <br /> In addition to the above insurance requirements,the employer for such special policeman shall <br /> file an agreement with the City Clerk saving the City of Everett harmless from all claims, actions <br /> or damages of every kind and description which may accrue to be suffered by any person by <br /> reason of the improper performance of the duties of the special policeman. <br /> Section 6: Terminating <br /> Appointments as Special Policeman shall be of no force or effect: <br /> (a) Upon and after conviction of the appointee of any felony or offense involving moral <br /> turpitude; <br /> (b) The cessation of the performance of actual police service by the appointee; <br />
