s
4 ( DARGEY
\ • DEVELOPMENT
April 30, 2015
Mr. Steve Ingalsbe, Planner
Planning& Community Development
2930 Wetmore Avenue,Suite 8A
Everett,WA 98201
SUBJECT: Permit B1306-035
Inspection Report Issued 4-23-15
Dear Steve,
The Potala Place Everett construction project received an inspection report on April 23,2015. The report noted that the
balcony decks being installed are not constructed per the approved design and plans. The following narrative describes
this and several other changes that were necessary during the course of construction. Sheets 60.03,G0.04 and G0.05 in
the permit set, list the project's zoning code analysis and requirements. More specifically, the code analysis and changes
called into question on the inspection report, can be found on sheet G0.04. The changes made to the items listed on this
sheet, are listed in a matrix format in Attachment A. In an effort to keep things brief and on point, only the subject items
shown on sheet 60.04 which have changes are listed in the matrix. Within these subject matters, there will be sub-
categories that may be listed as unchanged but have been included so that the entire subject matter is covered in the
document. A copy of sheet G0.04 has been included along with other graphics in Attachment B.
We believe the changes outlined in the attached sheets are relatively minor in nature and on the whole a net positive for
the project. Building facade articulation was increased by using three dimensional parapets and color changes rather than
the raised integral sunshades of the balconies. We expect the new colored glass highlights on the balconies to provide an
elegant, yet not overstated aesthetic. These highlights are expected to add visual interest in a manner similar to the
screened balconies in the permitted drawings. The city sidewalks will be constructed to city standards similar to those in
front of the newly constructed Hampton Inn and other recently improved city sidewalks. Added metal tree grates will
provide a more polished streetscape.
Should you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to call me at 425-876-7305.
Sincerely,
ill."--
Joe Zlab, PE,
Vice President of Construction
Cc: Paul McKee,City of Everett
Lobsang Dargey, Path America F`1 '
Enclosures
Bellevue Office: Everett Office: Billing Office:
500 108th Avenue NE,Suite 2020 2804 Grand Ave,Suite 308 PO Box 13261
Bellevue,WA 98004 Everett,WA 98201 Everett,WA 98201
