Below is the City ordinance in regard to side sewer responsibilities.Also the attached map shows where the City Right of Way ends,the Right of Way is the solid dull yellow color. It is right where the 3 private force mains dump into the City gravity sewer system and we take over responsibility. As for what happened in 2007 in terms of a City inspector requiring them to hook up to their neighbors side sewer I cannot speak to that as I was not involved. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.Thanks 14.08.270 Repair and maintenance of sewer lines.113 SHARE It shall be the duty of each abutting property owner to repair and maintain the side sewer line serving his property between the premises served and the right-of-way. When any private drain pipe connected with any public sewer or drain becomes obstructed, broken, or out of order, the director of engineering and utilities, or his designee, shall, if the owner, agent or tenant of such premises fails to repair the same after two days notice so to do, cause such drain pipe to be removed, reconstructed, repaired, altered or cleaned out as he may deem expedient, at the expense of the owner, agent or occupant of such premises as aforesaid, and shall be a lien against the property as provided in Section 14.08.250 and shall be collected in the manner provided in Section 14.08.250.
