During the Site Work Construction Plan review process, the city requested a specific geotech analysis addressing the
design and location of the storm pond relative to the slopes. It was determined that the city did not have the resources
to review the geotech report so a 3rd party peer review geotechnical engineer was retained by the city to review the
geotech report.
The applicants geotech engineer has addressed the comments and concerns of the citys peer review geotech engineer
with the updated report which I previously forwarded. The mitigation includes installation of a double wall pond liner
with a leak detection device to prevent seepage and saturation along the pond slope.
The applicant would propose the following additional mitigation measures in addition to the mitigation measures
outlined in the geotech response letter(attached)
1.The applicant would agree to increase the width of the pond berm along the slope from 6 ft to 15 ft to provide
additional mitigation/safety factor and increase the setback of the pond from the slope.
2.The applicant would agree to provide the city of Everett with a hold harmless letter relative to any damage, repair or
maintenance required along the slope caused by any failure of of the storm pond.
Please review and let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks for your assistance.
Dan Balmelli
Executive Vice President
(206) 396-8588 cel
Barghausen Consulting Engineers,Inc.
18215 72nd Avenue South
Kent, WA 98032
(425)251-6222 -Phone
(425)251-8782 - Fax
http://www.barghausen.com
From: Paul McKee [mailto:PMckee(aeverettwa.gov]
Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2016 1:22 PM
To: Dan Balmelli
Cc: Sabrina Fandler
Subject: Re: Batch Phone Call
Hi Dan,
I called Sabrina on Tuesday morning to fill her in on the conversation we had last Thursday.
