ORDINANCE NO. •;, '%� AN ORDINANCE adopting the "Everett Municipal Code," a 1 codification of the permanent and general ordinances of the City of Everett, Washington. 2 WHEREAS , the Washington State Legislature has provided for the 3 codification and publication of the permanent and general ordinances of cities and towns in Sections 35.21.500 through 35.21.570 of the Revised Code of 4 Washington; and 5 WHEREAS , the Book Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington, has compiled, e edited and published a codification of the permanent and general ordinances of the City of Everett, Washington; and 7 WHEREAS , there have been filed and there are now on file in the office of 8 the city clerk, for public inspection, three copies of a document entitled 9 "Everett Municipal Code." 10 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 11 Section 1. Adoption. Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 35.21.500 through 35.21.570 of the RCW, there is hereby adopted the "Everett Municipal 12 Code," as compiled, edited and published by Book Publishing Company, Seattle, Washington. 13 14 Section 2. Title—Citation—Reference. This code shall be known as the "Everett Municipal Code" and it shall be sufficient to refer to said code is as the "Everett Municipal Code" in any prosecution for the violation of any provision thereof or in any proceeding at law or equity. It shall be sufficient 16 to designate any ordinance adding to, amending, correcting or repealing all or any part or portion thereof as an addition to, amendment to, correction or 17 repeal of the "Everett Municipal Code." Further reference may be had to the titles, chapters, sections and subsections of the "Everett Municipal Code" 18 and such references shall apply to that numbered title, chapter, section or 19 subsection as it appears in the code. 20 Section 3. Codification authority. This code consists of all the regulatory and penal ordinances and certain of the administrative ordinances of the City 21 of Everett, Washington, codified pursuant to the provisions of Sections 35.21.500 through 35.21.570 of the Revised Code of Washington. 22 23 Section 4. Ordinances passed prior to adoption of the code. The last ordinance included in the initial code is Ordinance No. 317-74. The 24 following ordinances, passed subsequent to Ordinance 317-74, but prior to adoption of this code, are hereby adopted and made a part of this code: Ordinances 25 318-74 thru 350-75. 26 Section 5: Reference applies to all amendments. Whenever a reference is made to this code as the"Everett Municipal Code" or to any portion 27 thereof, or to any ordinance of the City of Everett, Washington, the reference shall apply to all amendments, corrections and additions heretofore, now or 28 hereafter made. 29 Section 6: Title, chapter and section headings . Title, chapter and 30 section headings contained herein shall not be deemed to govern, limit, modify or in any manner affect the scope, meaning or intent of the provisions 31 of any title, chapter or section hereof. 32
