• <br /> • <br /> SCHEDULE OF FEES (continued) <br /> For vacuum breakers or backflow protective <br /> devices on tanks , vats , etc. , or for <br /> installation on unprotected plumbing <br /> fixtures including necessary water piping - <br /> one (1) to five (5) each 2 . 00 <br /> Over five (5) each . 30 <br /> Backflow prevention device on water service <br /> each 10 00 <br /> *A food waste disposer installed at the time of the <br /> original sink installation shall be considered as part of <br /> the sink. Dishwashers discharging into a food waste dis- <br /> poser or a separate trap shall require a separate fee. <br /> Section 15: ALL WORK TO BE INSPECTED <br /> All plumbing and drainage systems shall be inspected by <br /> the Administrative Authority to insure compliance with all <br /> the requirements of this code. <br /> Section 16 : NOTIFICATION <br /> It shall be the duty of the person doing the work <br /> authorized by the permit to notify the Administrative Authority <br /> orally or in writing, that said work is ready for inspection. <br /> Such notification shall be given not less than twenty-four <br /> (24) hours before the work is to be inspected. <br /> It shall be the duty of the person doing the work <br /> authorized by the permit, to make sure that the work will <br /> stand the tests prescribed elsewhere in this code, before <br /> giving the above notification. <br /> Section 17 : BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> In order to determine the suitability of alternate mat- <br /> erials and methods of construction and to provide for reason- <br /> able interpretation of the provisions of this Code, there <br /> shall be and is hereby created a Board of Appeals , consisting <br /> of seven members who are qualified by experience anH training <br /> to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction. The <br /> Building Official shall be an ex officio member and shall act <br /> as Secretary of the Board. The Board of Appeals shall be <br /> appointed by the Mayor and shall hold office at his pleasure. <br /> The Board shall adopt reasonable rules and regulations for <br /> conducting its investigations and shall render all decisions <br /> and findings in writing to the Building Official with a duplicate <br /> copy to the appellant and may recommend to the City Council <br /> such new legislation as is consistent therewith. <br /> Section 18: <br /> The Building Official or any employee charged with the <br /> enforcement of this Code, acting in good faith and without <br /> malice for the jurisdition in the discharge of his duties , <br /> shall not thereby render himself liable personally and he <br /> hereby is relieved from all personal liability for any damage <br /> that may accrue to persons or property as a result of any act <br /> required or by reason of any act or omission in the discharge <br /> of his duties. Any suit brought against the Building Official <br /> or employees , because of such act or omission performed by <br /> him in the enforcement of any provisions of this Code, shall <br /> be defended by the legal department of the jurisdiction until <br /> final termination of the proceedings. <br />
