• <br /> • <br /> Longevity shall not affect parttime or day laborers, or employees <br /> in the pay range numbers prefaced E in Section 2 above. <br /> Section 5: There are hereby adopted as part of the Salary <br /> Ordinance longevity and educational incentive plans for commissioned <br /> police officers. Such officers, upon becoming eligible, may choose <br /> to participate in either plan, however, in no case shall any officer <br /> be eligible to participate concurrently in both plans. <br /> The following shall be the longevity schedule, based upon years <br /> of service, the amount of which shall be added to and considered a <br /> part of, base pay: <br /> After completion of four (4) years - $25. 00 per month <br /> After completion of eight (8) years - $50. 00 per month <br /> After completion of twelve (12) years - $75. 00 per month <br /> After completion of sixteen (16) years - $100. 00 per month <br /> The following shall be the educational incentive plan schedule, <br /> based upon receipt of approved college credits. There shall be a <br /> joint Everett Police Officers Association and City Administration <br /> Committee established which shall determine the appropriateness of <br /> areas of study for which the incentive pay may be granted. Such pay <br /> may not be received during the initial 9-month probationary period. <br /> After completion of 45 credits - $25. 00 per month <br /> After completion of 90 credits - $50. 00 per month <br /> After completion of 135 credits - $75. 00 per month <br /> After receiving a B.S. or B.A. degree - $100. 00 per month <br /> Section 6': Bus Operators, who are requested by their supervisors <br /> to act as bus operator trainers, shall be paid $1. 00 per hour premium <br /> pay in addition to their regular hourly rate. <br /> Section 7: Employees receiving promotions will advance to the <br /> step in the higher classification pay range which is 5% higher than the <br /> step they were at in the range of the lower classification. Should <br /> the lowest step of the pay range of the higher classification be in <br /> excess of 5% higher than the previous step the employee held, he shall <br /> be paid at the amount of the lowest step in the higher classification. <br /> Upon promotion, the employee' s anniversary date for future step pay <br /> increases will become the date upon which the promotion became effective. <br /> Section 8 : Upon demotion, an employee shall be paid either at the <br /> step in the lower pay range which is an amount equal to the step he had <br /> been at in the higher classification or at the highest step of the <br /> lower classification if all of the steps of the lower pay range are <br /> below the step he had been at in the higher classification. <br /> Section 9 : All persons, otherthan those in pay range prefaced H, <br /> who are paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth <br /> shall be considered and be day laborers as defined by the City Charter <br /> governing Civil Service. <br />
