Enclosures shall include landings between flights and any corridors, passageways, or public rooms necessary for continuous exit to the exterior of the building . The stairway need not be enclosed in a continuous shaft if cut off at each story by the fire-resistive construc- tion required by this Subsection for stairwell enclosures . Enclosures shall not be required if an automatic fire ex- tinguishing system is provided for all portions of the building except bedrooms, apartments, and rooms accessory thereto, provided that one sprinkler head is installed inside every opening leading into exit ways. " Section 13: That Subsection 1313 (m) of the Appendix of the Uniform Building Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended to read as follows: "Section 1313 (m) - Alternates No alternate method of obtaining the fire protection and safety required by this Section may be used unless ap- proved by the Fire Prevention Review Board. " Section 14: That Subsection 7009 (b) of the Appendix of the Uniform Building Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended to read as follows: "Section 7009 (b) - Slope The slope of cut surfaces shall be no steeper than is safe for the intended use . Cut slopes shall be no steep- er than two horizontal to one vertical. EXCEPTION: For minor cuts not intended to support structures, the maximum slope permitted may be one to one, subject to the approval of the Building Official. " Section 15: That Subsection 7010 (f) of the Appendix of the Uniform Building Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby is amended to read as follows : "Section 7010 (f) - Slope The slope of fill surfaces shall be no steeper than is safe for the intended use. Fill slopes shall be no steeper than two horizontal to one vertical. EXCEPTION: For minor fills not intended to support structures, the maximum slope permitted may be one vertical to one and one-half horizontal, subject to the approval of the Building Official . " Section 16: That Ordinance No. 130-71, Ordinance No . 261-73, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith are hereby repealed; PROVIDED said Ordinance No. 130-71 which adopted the 1970 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, and Ordinance No. 261-73 which adopted Chapter 70 of the 1970 Edition of the Uniform Building Code shall remain effective and shall govern all interpretations that may arise as to all permits issued by the Building Official or the Building Divi- sion of the Department of Community Development of the -7-
