Snow loads in excess of 20 pounds per square foot may be <br /> reduced for each degree of pitch over 20 degrees by (R) as <br /> determined by the following formula: s <br /> R = S - 1/2 <br /> s 40 <br /> WHERE: <br /> R = Snow load reduction in pounds per square foot <br /> s degree of pitch over 20u. <br /> S = Total snow load in pounds per square foot. " <br /> Section 11: That Subsection 1313 (d) of the Appendix of <br /> the Uniform Building Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby <br /> is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 1313 (d) - Number of Exits <br /> Every apartment and every other sleeping room shall have <br /> access to not less than two exits. A fire escape as <br /> specified herein may be used as one required exit. <br /> Every dwelling unit or every sleeping room or portion <br /> thereof in any story which is more than 12 feet above <br /> grade as defined herein and having an occupant load of <br /> 10 or more shall have access to the number of exits as <br /> required in Section 3302 (a) for floors above the first <br /> floor. <br /> Every dwelling unit or every sleeping room or portion <br /> thereof in any story, which is more than 12 feet above <br /> grade as defined herein and having an occupant load of <br /> less than 10, shall have access to two exits. <br /> Exceptions: <br /> 1 . Every occupant may have access to one exit and one <br /> horizontal exit through a two-hour fire-resistive area <br /> separation wall . <br /> 2 . Every dwelling unit or every sleeping room sep- <br /> arated from other dwelling units or sleeping rooms by <br /> one-hour fire-resistive construction may have one private <br /> exit which discharges to the exterior at grade level . <br /> 3 . Every dwelling unit or every sleeping room which is <br /> protected with an automatic fire extinguishing sprinkler <br /> device installed inside every opening into exit ways may <br /> have one exit. <br /> Interior corridors and stairways serving an occupant load <br /> of less than 10 may have one exit provided they are sepa- <br /> rated from other spaces by one-hour fire-resistive sepa- <br /> ration or equivalent fire protection as approved by the <br /> Building Official. " <br /> Section 12 : That Subsection 1313 (f) of the Appendix of <br /> the Uniform Building Code, 1973 Edition, be and hereby <br /> is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Subsection 1313 (f) - Interior Stairways <br /> Every interior stairway shall be enclosed with walls of <br /> not less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. <br /> Where existing partitions form part of a stairwell en- <br /> closure, wood lath and plaster in good condition will be <br /> acceptable in lieu of one-hour fire-resistive construc- <br /> tion.
