• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. , , /`/ <br /> AN ORDINANCE regulating the installation, alteration, <br /> maintenance and repair of all electrical wires, equipment <br /> and apparatus, providing for the adoption of the National <br /> Electrical Code 1971; Department of Labor and Industries , <br /> Electrical Inspection Division, Rules and Regulations for <br /> Installing Electric Wires and Equipment and Administrative <br /> Rules , April 1, 1972; Department of Labor and Industries , <br /> Electrical Installations Law, December 1, 1972; Department <br /> of Labor and Industries, Rules for Electrical Construction, <br /> Revised September, 1965; Department of Labor and Industries, <br /> Rules and Regulations for Mobile Homes, Commercial Coaches <br /> and Recreational Vehicles, Revised January 1, 1972; <br /> Department of Labor and Industries , Electrical Construction <br /> Code, adopted December 1, 1964; providing for permits, <br /> charges, and providing for penalty of violation thereof, <br /> and repealing Ordinance No. 75-70. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1, DEFINITIONS <br /> The word "person" whenever used in this Chapter shall be <br /> held and construed to mean, and include natural persons of either <br /> sex, associations, co-partnerships and corporations, whether <br /> acting by themselves or by a servant, agent or employee; the <br /> singular number shall be held to include the plural and the <br /> masculine pronoun to include the feminine. <br /> The word "inspector" whenever used in this chapter shall be <br /> held and construed to mean and include the City Electrical <br /> Inspector of the City of Everett or any of his duly authorized <br /> assistants. <br /> The word "Code" when used in this ordinance or a correction <br /> notice shall mean the Electrical Code of the City of Everett. <br /> The term "Electrical Permit" shall mean any permit required <br /> by the Electrical Code, Ordinance No. <br /> The term "notify or serve notice" whenever used in conjunction <br /> with this chapter shall be satisfied when either a written or <br /> verbal order is given by the inspector. <br /> The word "should" whenever used in this ordinance or in the <br /> National Electrical Code shall be interpreted to mean "shall" . <br /> The words "electrical equipment" wherever used in this <br /> chapter shall be held and construed to mean and include any <br /> electrical wires, appliances, apparatus or electrical construction <br /> of any kind except as are or may be used for telephone, telegraph <br /> or traffic signal purposes , installed or used in any building or <br /> structure in the City of Everett. <br /> The word "approved" wherever used in this chapter, shall be <br /> held and construed to mean and include the approval of the City <br /> Electrical Inspector. <br /> "Waterfront area" shall be defined as all areas adjacent to <br /> Port Gardner Bay and/or the Snohomish River and situated on the <br /> bay and/or river side of the Burlington Northern Railway trackage <br /> that circumvents the City of Everett shall, for the purposes of this <br /> ordinance, be considered as, and classified waterfront areas. <br />
