• <br /> Section 15 : <br /> Markings : Each vehicle licensed shall have the word "taxicab , " <br /> "convalescent coach, " or other appropriate descriptive term <br /> painted in letters at least three inches high on both sides <br /> of the vehicle directly under the true or assumed name <br /> listed thereon. Each vehicle licensed shall have the company <br /> vehicle numbers painted on all four sides of the vehicle not <br /> less than four inches high. The words that might tend to <br /> deceive the public may not be used on any vehicle licensed <br /> under this chapter. No vehicle covered by the terms of <br /> this chapter shall be licensed whose color scheme, identi- <br /> fying design, monogram or insignia is designated to imitate <br /> any color scheme or identifying design of any other opera- <br /> tor in such a manner as to be misleading or deceiving to <br /> the public. <br /> Section 16 : <br /> Fare Rates : It shall be unlawful for anyone driving or <br /> engaging in the business of operating vehicles for hire to <br /> change, demand, collect or receive any greater fare than <br /> as specified by resolution passed by the City Council. <br /> Section 17 : <br /> Rate-Scedule: Every person, firm or corporation operating <br /> a for-hire vehicle in the City of Everett, shall file with <br /> the City Clerk the schedule of rates to be charged for the <br /> operation of their vehicle within the City limits . It is <br /> unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to make any <br /> other charges, either more or less , for the services rendered <br /> by such person, firm or corporation than as set forth in the <br /> rate schedule. Such person, firm or corporation shall further <br /> cause to be posted in every vehicle a card containing a <br /> schedule of the rates. The card shall be posted in a <br /> prominent place in the vehicle and the Chief of Police shall <br /> have the power in his descretion to designate the place of <br /> posting in the vehicle and the size of the card; provided, <br /> that the filed rates shall not be changed until the proposed <br /> changes in rates are filed with the City Clerk for a period <br /> of thirty days . <br /> Section 18 : <br /> Call Record Required: Every vehicle for hire operator <br /> shall keep at the location for which his operator' s license <br /> is issued a chronological record showing each call for <br /> for-hire vehicle service ordered or made and the name and <br /> address of the person calling for the service, the name <br /> of the driver who responded thereto, the number of the <br /> vehicle, the time and place of the origin and of the end <br /> of each vehicle trip and the fee charged, and shall upon <br /> request of any person paying a vehicle charge, furnish a <br /> receipt showing such information. Such records shall at <br /> all reasonable times be open to the inspection of the City <br /> Clerk or Chief of Police or the agents of either. <br /> Section 19: <br /> Direct Route Required: Any driver of a vehicle for hire <br /> employed to carry passengers to a definite point shall make <br /> the most direct route possible that will carry the passengers <br /> safely and expeditiously to his destination. <br />
