Section 27 <br /> Vehicle For Hire Service Requirements : All persons engaged <br /> in the vehicle for hire business in the City of Everett <br /> operating under the provisions of this chapter shall render an <br /> over-all service to the public desiring to use their specified <br /> vehicle for hire be it a taxicab or convalescent coach as the <br /> case may be. Holder of licenses shall maintain a place of <br /> business and keep the same open for twenty-four (24) hours <br /> a day for the purpose of receiving calls and dispatching <br /> vehicles . They shall answer all calls received by them for <br /> services inside the corporate limits of the City of Fverett <br /> as soon as they can do so and if said services cannot be <br /> rendered within a reasonable time, they shall then notify the <br /> prospective passengers how long it will be before the said <br /> call can be answered and give the reason therefor. <br /> Section 28 <br /> Advertising-Unlawful to Affix to Vehicle : It shall be un- <br /> lawful for any person owning or operating a motor vehicle for <br /> hire to permit advertising matter to be affixed to or in- <br /> stalled in or on such motor vehicles for hire. <br /> Section 29 <br /> Suspension of License: In the event the holder of a license <br /> shall desire to suspend the same for a period of time to <br /> be determined by said holder, then in that event, he shall <br /> deposit said license with the City Clerk to be returned <br /> to him upon demand, provided that no portion of the license <br /> fee shall be returned to the holder thereof during such <br /> period of suspension, and provided, further, that during said <br /> period of suspension it shall not be necessary for the holder <br /> thereof to comply with the insurance provisions herein <br /> designated. <br /> Section 30 <br /> Grounds For Suspension or Revocation of License Additional <br /> to General Provisions : In addition to the grounds specified <br /> in the general licensing provisions , the City Clerk may <br /> revoke or suspend any vehicle for hire driver' s license on <br /> the following grounds: <br /> (1) The driver' s conviction in any court of reckless <br /> driving, drunkeness , possession or sale of intoxicating <br /> liquor, use, sale or possession of a controlled substance . <br /> (2) The driver' s charging of passenger' s more than the <br /> maximum fares provided for herein. <br /> (3) For the failure or refusal to provide over-all <br /> service for their specified vehicles when such vehicles <br /> are available. <br />
