f The rated 1-hour assembly has been noted on the wall section 1/A33, and the tested assembly detail
t/ included on A33. The assembly is specific to both the interior wall condition and the parapet.
3. Please indicate the method of attachment of the slab and foundation with the thermal break shown on
the insulation detail for the new addition.
Per the structural engineer "a structural connection between the wall and the slab is not required to resolve
c7 soil pressures or seismic forces for this particular project"
Accessibility
/
✓ 1. The building permit site plan should indicate more detail on the parking signage and the accessible
route to the primary function served, per IBC sections 1104.3, 1106.1, 1106.4, 1106.5 and 1106.6, and
IEBC sections 410.5 and 410.7. The costs for providing the accessible route are not required to exceed
20% of the cost of the alterations to the primary function area.
a. For your reference, a handout referencing the building code standards ICC/ANSI A117.1-2009 for
several items listed above is attached.
b. Please document the accessible route to the primary entrance door, per ICC-A117.1-2009 section
403.4.
c. Please indicate conforming curb cuts, if used, and accessible door hardware on the drawings.
d. Accessible parking signage should indicate compliance with height and content of signage per
ICC/ANSI A117.1-2009 section 502.7.
The accessible route has been indicated on the Site Plan,A1.1,as well as a detail for parking signage. There
are no curb cuts needed along the accessible route the paving is flush. Accessible hardware is noted on
the Code Analysis Plan,A1.2
2. Please contact Kirk Brooks to discuss the Public Works plan review overlapping concerns of the
following items. Kirk can be reached by e-mail at kbrooks@everettwa.gov a. The width of the exterior
walkway should be shown as 44 inches, per IBC section 1101.2.1, as amended by the State of
Washington. The building code requirement for minimum width of the walkway on the east side of the
building would require work in the public right of way, outside of the property line.
b. The accessible clearance required for the entrance door should be shown to meet the minimum
requirements of ICC/ANSI A117.1-2009 figure 404.2.3.2 (g), which requires 48 inches width of the
landing outside of the doorway.
c. The location of the accessible parking should continue to be on the shortest route to the primary use
and accessible building entrance, per IBC section 1106.6 and IEBC Section 1105.1. The location of the
accessible van parking as shown currently on the plans, and moving that parking space east will be a
challenge for vehicle access so close to the corner of the block.
The Van Accessible space has been moved in consultation with Kirk Brooks. Please refer to the Site Plan,
A1.1. Also on the site plan, the accessible walkway has been widened to 48': These changes are also being
resubmitted to Public Works.
3. The pull side clearance on the door into the new treatment room should be 18 inches, per per ICC-
A117.1-2009 figure 404.2.3.2 (a).
The pull side clearance dimension has been added to the Floor Plan,A2.1.
Energy
cf 1. Please include a calculated lighting summary from the forms available on'NEEC.NET to verify
compliance for the interior lighting power allowances per WSEC table C405.2 (1)-for the existing tenant
improvement and the addition, per WSEC section C502.6.1 and C503.6.
Separate forms have been submitted for the addition and for the alteration. A22 also includes a light fixtrure
schedule,plan notes and fixture layout.
Morgan Robert Elliott, LLC • 2320 29th Ave S. Seattle, WA 98144 • 206-354-2412
