1 (c) The above limitations of a special policeman's police authority <br /> 2 may only be extended to other times and places upon written <br /> authorization of the Chief of Police, or his designee. <br /> 3 <br /> Section 5: Insurance and Indemnity Agreement <br /> 4 <br /> (a) Insurance <br /> 5 <br /> The employer of each such special policeman shall file with the <br /> 6 City Clerk the policy or policies of false arrest insurance, approved <br /> 7 as to sufficiency by the City Clerk, issued by an insurance company <br /> or companies authorized to do business in the State of Washington, <br /> 8 providing indemnity for and protection to the City of Everett in the <br /> sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) for each <br /> 9 person; One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) for each incident <br /> and One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00 in the aggregate. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Each such policy of insurance shall continue in the full amount <br /> thereof notwithstanding any recovery thereon and shall provide <br /> 12 that the liability of the insurer shall not be affected by the <br /> insolvency or bankruptcy of the insured. The policy shall be for <br /> 13 the benefit of any and all judgment creditors. Each insurance <br /> policy required hereunder shall extend for the period the special <br /> 14 policeman maintains his status as such policeman and the <br /> insurer shall be obligated to give not less than ten (10) days' <br /> 15 written notice to the City Clerk in the event of any change or <br /> 16 cancellation. <br /> 17 (b) Indemnity Agreement <br /> 18 In addition to the above insurance requirements, the employer for such <br /> special policeman shall file an agreement with the City Clerk saving the <br /> 19 City of Everett harmless from all claims, actions or damages of every <br /> 20 kind and description which may accrue to be suffered by any person by <br /> reason of the improper performance of the duties of the special <br /> 21 policeman. <br /> 22 Section 6: Terminating <br /> 23 <br /> Appointments as Special Policeman shall be of no force or effect. <br /> 24 (a) Upon and after conviction of the appointee of any felony or <br /> 25 offense involving moral turpitude; <br /> 26 (b) The cessation of the performance of actual police service <br /> by the appointee; <br /> 27 <br /> 28 (c) Upon and after revocation of appointment by the Chief of <br /> Police for failure to abide by the requirements of the City <br /> 29 Charter or this chapter, the failure to perform faithfully the <br /> duties of his employment, or for any cause deemed sufficient by the <br /> 30 Chief of Police in his discretion; <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
