I 11 by such rules and regulations shall be cause for cancellation of continued 2 transmission and treatment service to the entire district, municipality or 3 4 governmental unit. 5 Section 6 Billings and collections 6 All bills for sewage disposal service shall be rendered monthly and shall 7 I become due and payable at the office of the city treasurer on or before 8 the twentieth day after date shown on monthly billing and shall become 9 delinquent thereafter. 10 Any charge for sewage disposal service not paid within forty-five days from date 11 12 due and payable shall bear interest at the rate of eight percent per year and such 13 charge and interest shall immediately become a lien upon the property 14 to which such sewer service is rendered, superior to all other liens or 15 encumbrances except those for general taxes and special assessments. 16 Such liens may be foreclosed by the city in the manner provided by law for 17 the enforcement of the same and for delinquent sewage charges. As an 18 additional and concurrent method of enforcing the lien herein provided, 19 the city may cut off the water service from the premises to which such 20 21 sewage disposal service was furnished, and such water service shall 22 remain cut off until such charges, plus penalties and interest thereon, 23 together with an additional sum of five dollars for turning the water on. 24 Section 7 Severability 25 If any section, subsection, clause or sentence of this chapter shall 26 be held unconstitutional or invalid, such holding shall not affect the 27 validity of the remaining provisions of this chapter. 28 Section 8 - Repeal 29 30 Ordinance Numbers 32-69, 4340, 4332, 4316, 4250, 4219, 4084, 3956, 3935, 3891 and 31 32 Page 10
