, 1 Section 4: 2 Use or operating of a private water supply system contrary to the 3 provisions of the ordinances of the City of Everett or the laws of the State 4 of Washington or the rules and regulations of the State Board of Health 5 regarding public water supplies where said private system is served by the 6 City public water supply shall be unlawful. 7 Section 5: 8 Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Health Regarding Public 9 Water Supplies - Cross-Connection Control Regulation in Washington State - 10 WAC 248-54-250 through WAC 248-54-500 are hereby adopted by reference. 11 Section 6: 12 Unlawful cross-connections now existing or hereafter installed, 13 services requiring backflow prevention devices and unlawful use or operation 14 of a private water supply system served by the City public water supply system 15 are hereby declared to be nuisances, and in addition to any other provisions 16 and lawful measures for the abatement of nuisances, shall be subject to abate- 17 ment in accordance with the following procedure. In the event that the Super- 18 intendent shall determine that a nuisance, as herein provided, does exist, 19 written notice thereof shall be sent to the person in whose name the service 20 is established under the records of the City Water Department or, alternatively 21 said written notice shall be posted on the premises served. Said notice shall 22 provide that the nuisance described therein shall be corrected within thirty 23 (30) days of the date said notice is mailed or posted. Upon failure to abate 24 said nuisance within the prescribed time, water service may be discontinued. 25 In the event that a nuisance as herein provided, shall present an immediate 26 danger of contamination to the public water supply of the City of Everett in 27 the opinion of the Superintendent, service from the City of Everett public 28 water supply system to any premises upon which a nuisance, as herein 29 30 31 32
