Plan Section 6
b. The expansion of sidewalk/trail connections along streets between Everett Avenue and
Hewitt Avenue. This route does not provide the convenience and separation from traffic
that connection "a" offers, but there is
sufficient right-of-way for expanded FEZ r
sidewalks, and the improvements can -
-
i
be constructed in the near term at
relatively modest expense. This link is
also important because it connects
directly to Highway 2 and the
E. Grand Avenue trail. The City should
determine the safest route in this area.
For example, Summit Avenue may be x
a better connection than Harrison
Avenue, depending on future use and = ny
the available right-of-way.
Typical conditions north of Highway 2 with right-
of-way available for trail
6,6 Trail Connection from Highway 2 to
the Everett Station
The City widened sidewalks and constructed
bicycle lanes along Pacific Avenue to connect
the Highway 2 pedestrian bridge on Hewitt
Avenue to Everett Station. There is ped/bike
access off the Highway 2 trestle down to the
river with bollards blocking off car access.
SR-2 now includes safe trail connection
to the east across the Snohomish River
•
Shoreline Public Access Plan Update 2019 48 41
