Business Open Signage <br /> Business open signs shall be placed at all business entrances located adjacent to lane <br /> closures. Two (2) signs shall be posted back to back at each business entrance when, <br /> in the opinion of the Engineer, the entrance is obscured by traffic control devices. <br /> Business signs will be classified as construction signs and included in the Bid Item <br /> "Project Temporary Traffic Control". <br /> Temporary Driveway Widening <br /> Access shall be maintained to adjacent properties at all times during construction. It <br /> may be necessary for the contractor to pour driveways in multiple segments and/or <br /> construct temporary widening to provide access during driveway construction. <br /> Signs and Traffic Control Devices <br /> All signs and traffic control devices for the permitted closures shall only be installed <br /> during the specified hours. Construction signs, if placed earlier than the specified hours <br /> of closure, shall be turned or covered so as not to be visible to motorists. <br /> Hours of Darkness <br /> When night work is permitted the Contractor shall, at no additional cost to the <br /> Contracting Agency, make all arrangements for operations during hours of darkness. <br /> Flagger stations shall be illuminated using a minimum 150 watt floodlight. Channelizing <br /> devices shall be traffic safety drums with type C steady burn lights. <br /> Lighting used for nighttime work shall, whenever possible, be directed away from, or <br /> shielded from, residences and oncoming traffic. <br /> (March 6, 2000 WSDOT NWR GSP) <br /> Construction vehicles using a closed traffic lane shall travel only in the normal direction <br /> of traffic flow unless expressly allowed in an approved traffic control plan. Construction <br /> vehicles shall be equipped with flashing or rotating amber lights. <br /> Work over an open lane of traffic will not be allowed, unless a plan for the protection of <br /> the traveling public from debris falling onto the traveled way is approved by the Engineer. <br /> This protection shall remain in place during construction and meet minimum vertical <br /> clearance for the highway. <br /> Controlled Access <br /> No special access or egress will be allowed the Contractor other than normal legal <br /> movements or as shown in the Plans. <br /> 1-07.24 Rights of Way <br /> Delete this section and replace it with the following: <br /> Street Right of Way lines, limits of easements, and limits of construction permits are <br /> indicated in the Plans. The Contractor's construction activities shall be confined within these <br /> limits, unless arrangements for use of private property are made. <br /> Generally, the Contracting Agency will have obtained, prior to bid opening, all rights of way <br /> and easements, both permanent and temporary, necessary for carrying out the work. <br /> r <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP53 <br /> May 2017 <br />
