Commercial evaluation may be used for Commercial HMA and for other classes of HMA in the <br /> following applications: sidewalks, road approaches, ditches, slopes, paths, trails, gores, <br /> prelevel, and pavement repair. Other nonstructural applications of HMA accepted by <br /> commercial evaluation shall be as approved by the Project Engineer. Sampling and testing of <br /> HMA accepted by commercial evaluation will be at the option of the Project Engineer. <br /> Commercial HMA can be accepted by a contractor certificate of compliance letter stating the <br /> material meets the HMA requirements defined in the contract. <br /> 5-04.3(8)A4 Definition of Sampling Lot and Sublot <br /> (January 16, 2014 APWA GSP) <br /> Section 5-04.3(8)A4 is supplemented with the following: <br /> For HMA in a structural application, sampling and testing for total project quantities less than <br /> 400 tons is at the discretion of the engineer. For HMA used in a structural application and with <br /> a total project quantity less than 800 tons but more than 400 tons, a minimum of one <br /> acceptance test shall be performed: <br /> If test results are found to be within specification requirements, additional testing <br /> will be at the engineers discretion. <br /> If test results are found not to be within specification requirements, additional testing as needed <br /> to determine a CPF shall be performed <br /> 5-04.3(8)A5 Test Results <br /> (January 16, 2014 APWA GSP) <br /> The first paragraph of this section is deleted. <br /> 5-04.3(8)A6 Test Methods <br /> (January 16, 2014 APWA GSP) <br /> Delete this section and replace it with the following: <br /> Testing of HMA for compliance of Va will be at the option of the Contracting Agency. If tested, <br /> compliance of Va will be use WSDOT Standard Operating Procedure SOP 731. Testing for <br /> compliance of asphalt binder content will be by WSDOT FOP for AASHTO T 308. Testing for <br /> compliance of gradation will be by WAQTC FOP for AASHTO T 27/T 11. <br /> 5-04.5 Payment <br /> This Section is supplemented with the following: <br /> HMA for asphalt concrete driveway aprons and roadway repair will be measured and paid with <br /> the unit Contract price per ton of HMA Cl. %"PG 70-22. <br /> 5-04.5(1)B Price Adjustments for Quality of HMA Compaction <br /> (January 16, 2014 APWA GSP) <br /> Delete this section and replace it with the following: <br /> The maximum CPF of a compaction lot is 1.00. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP77 <br /> May 2017 <br />
