(1) Profile and section views of the proposed geofoam block layout clearly indicating the <br /> size, type, location, and orientation of all blocks. <br /> (2) Location and details for joint fasteners or adhesive installation. <br /> (b) Construction Narrative. Provide a description of the geofoam installation that includes the <br /> following: <br /> (1) Description of the construction staging and schedule for placing the geofoam <br /> embankment. <br /> (2) Description and specifications for joint fasteners or adhesive. <br /> (3) Proposed block placement and construction methods, including tools, equipment and <br /> techniques used to handle blocks. <br /> (4) Proposed ballasting or guying techniques for geofoam storage, handling, and <br /> installation. <br /> (5) Proposed method of placing cast-in-place concrete slab and sand layer over <br /> geomembrane and geofoam embankment. <br /> (6) Proposed geomembrane installation procedures and any seam welding or gluing <br /> procedures. <br /> 6-11.3(2) Excavation and Foundation Preparation <br /> This section is supplemented with the following: <br /> Refer to drawing F1.05 for general foundation preparation notes. <br /> Wall 16, denoted wall Type VI on the drawings, will be constructed behind an existing block wall <br /> and over the top of an existing water main. The water main shall be exposed along the full <br /> length of the retaining wall. The Engineer shall be notified and sufficient time for inspection shall <br /> be provided prior to proceeding with the construction of the retaining wall. The water main shall <br /> be permanently protected by a 4 inch thick sand cushion, as shown on drawing F1.06. <br /> 6-111.3(4) Cast-in-Place Concrete Construction <br /> This section is supplemented with the following: <br /> Refer to section 6-02 of the special Provisions for additional concrete mix and surface finish <br /> requirements. <br /> 6-111.3(5) Backfill, Weepholes , and Gutters <br /> This section is supplemented with the following: <br /> Geofoam and Geomembrane <br /> The backfill for Wall 16 shall consist of EPS geofoam blocks fully wrapped with an <br /> impermeable geomembrane. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP89 <br /> May 2017 <br />
