Contraction/Control Joints: Saw-cut contraction joints and weakened plane joints shall <br /> be filled with joint sealing compound in areas and locations indicated on the plans. Joints <br /> shall be filled flush to within 1/16-inch of the slab surface. <br /> Detectable Warning Paver Strip Installation <br /> A. Paving strips must be completely covered with protective plastic wrap to avoid <br /> discoloration during installation. <br /> B. Spread concrete and trowel to a smooth finish. Remove a thin layer of the wet concrete <br /> and push detectable warning strip into the concrete. Use a rubber hammer if necessary <br /> to push warning strip into concrete to achieve a uniform slope and edge condition at the <br /> perimeter. Care should be taken in placing tactile to prevent a raised/ponding area from <br /> forming in the concrete platform behind the tactile strip. <br /> C. Place cut pieces and metal edging at edge and interruptions. Maintain tight evenly <br /> spaced joints. Joint Width: 3/8 inches, maximum. <br /> D. Re-trowel edges to create a smooth surface adjacent to all edges of the paver strip <br /> surface. <br /> E. Cleaning and Sealing - Remove the plastic wrap and wash entire surface with neutral <br /> cleaner. <br /> F. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry thoroughly. <br /> G. Reapply sealer in accordance with manufacture's recommendations. <br /> Station Platform Boarding Area Graphics Installation <br /> INSTALLER'S QUALIFICATION <br /> 1. The Contractor for this work shall have a minimum of three (3) years documented <br /> experience with concrete finishing. <br /> 2.
