Protection of Installed Station Shelters and Amenities <br /> BARRIERS AND ENCLOSURES <br /> Shelters and iconic markers, from the time erection begins until the station has been opened <br /> by Community Transit, shall be protected by a minimum 6-foot high temporary chain link <br /> fence. Fencing shall be offset from the face of curb to maintain a minimum 5-foot pedestrian <br /> sidewalk route. The fence shall be provided by the Contractor through a construction fence <br /> rental company, and will be paid for as part of the price for each station "Shelter and <br /> Amenities Installation". Contractor's fence rental agreement shall include a provision that <br /> Community Transit may take over the rental contract after completion of the work, under the <br /> same rates as apply for the Contractor's rental. The Contractor's obligation to provide the <br /> fence for each station shall continue until all stations have been accepted by Community <br /> Transit and the project is substantially complete. It is anticipated that the fence will be <br /> needed beyond completion of construction, and Community Transit will arrange for removal <br /> of the fence when they require its removal. <br /> 8-31A Measurement <br /> Station Boundary and Barrier Railing Installation will be measured by the linear foot. <br /> Shelter and Amenities Installation will be measured per each complete Station. <br /> Relocate Existing Bus Shelter will be measured per each local bus shelter relocated. <br /> 8-31.5 Payment <br /> Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1-04.1, for each of the following bid items that <br /> are included in the proposal: <br /> "Station Boundary Railing Installation", per linear foot. <br /> "Station Barrier Railing Installation", per linear foot. <br /> The unit contract price per linear foot for"Station Boundary Railing Installation" and "Station <br /> Barrier Railing Installation" shall be full compensation for the installation owner-furnished station <br /> railing as shown in the plans and described in the specifications. <br /> "Shelter and Amenities Installation", per each. <br /> The unit contract price per each for"Shelter and Amenities Installation" shall be full <br /> compensation for the installation of the Station Shelter and Amenities as shown in the plans and <br /> described in the specifications including: <br /> • Installation of owner furnished Station Shelters and Iconic Markers including <br /> foundations, columns and beams, outrigger arms and glass roof, and cladding; shelter <br /> and Iconic Marker lighting; benches, and windscreens with leaning rail; and passenger <br /> information panel and load center. <br /> • Installation of owner furnished site furnishings including windscreens, benches, and litter <br /> bins. <br /> • Installation of owner furnished passenger fare collection equipment including Ticket <br /> Vending Machines and Stand Alone Fare Transaction Processors. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP154 <br /> May 2017 <br />
