The hand and man and countdown symbols shall have a uniform appearance; individual LEDs <br /> shall not be visible. The hand and man symbols shall be on the left side superimposed and the <br /> countdown symbol on the right side. <br /> Except as noted in the following pre-approved list of this section, samples of each item shall be <br /> submitted to the Engineer for approval. <br /> Pre-approved list: <br /> Dialight product number 430-6479-001X <br /> Weep Holes <br /> Each pedestrian signal head shall have one downward-facing weep hole drilled in the bottom <br /> horizontal surface of the housing. Weep holes shall be 3/16" in diameter and shall not be <br /> blocked by any obstructions. No part of the housing or display is to be damaged when the weep <br /> holes are drilled. <br /> Accessible Pedestrian Signal(APS) <br /> Section 9-29.20 is supplemented with the following: <br /> Housings shall be die-cast aluminum and shall be painted with two coats of factory applied <br /> traffic signal yellow. Audible Pedestrian Indicators shall have an audible speaker, call <br /> confirmation LED, and vibrotactile arrow. The audible speaker shall be programmable to have a <br /> button locator tone, acknowledgment tone/message, walk cycle tone/message, and clearance <br /> tone/message. The unit(s) shall have automatic volume controls for message strength over <br /> ambient noise. The walk tone/message shall be programmable to stop with walk signal or user <br /> settable time. The device shall be user settable for APS message initiation with an extended <br /> press or on call. The controller unit shall be installed in the signal cabinet, or in the pedestrian <br /> head, as specified in the Plans and these special provisions. The pedestrian button/sign <br /> housing shall be traffic signal yellow. The device shall provide a pedestrian call contact closure <br /> duration suitable for operation with a NEMA Model 332 cabinet. <br /> Required and pre-approved list for inclusion in the following bid items: <br /> For the bid item, "SR 527 at 208th Street SE (SR 524) Temporary System AND Traffic Signal <br /> Modifications, Complete," which shall include the following two systems: "SR 527 at 208th <br /> Street SE (SR 524) Temporary Traffic Signal System, Complete" AND "SR 527 at 208th Street <br /> SE (SR 524)Traffic Signal Modifications, Complete"the following shall apply: <br /> Relocation and re-use of existing pushbutton stations in good working condition, as <br /> approved by the Engineer, is acceptable. The Contractor shall replace damaged or <br /> defective equipment with comparable equipment of a similar model at no additional cost <br /> to the Owner. Maintain existing voice to walk messages as indicated in the plans. The <br /> pedestrian button/sign housing at this location shall be traffic signal yellow. Polara <br /> EZCommunicator 4-wire Navigator APS System, with 9"x15" countdown sign, braille text <br /> and custom voice message. <br /> For the bid item, "Airport Road at SR 99 (Evergreen Way) Traffic Signal Modifications, <br /> Complete,"APS shall utilize existing equipment, to be relocated for the Traffic Signal System, as <br /> specified in the Plans. <br /> Swift Green Line—Corridor Stations Special Provisions SP203 <br /> May 2017 <br />
