Community Transit Swift II BRT—Everett Submittal Page 2,3 <br /> improvements will include installation of concrete aprons in front of the stations;modifications to existing <br /> curb and gutter,and sidewalk;relocating or modifying some existing local bus stops,retaining wall <br /> construction at some locations;modifications to existing storm drainage;utility relocations;signing and <br /> striping modifications;and traffic signal improvements or modifications at some locations. Station sites will <br /> include fifteen(15) station pairs,a single northbound station at 220th Street SE,a single station with extended <br /> platform at Canyon Park Park&Ride,and two station shelters with amenities at the proposed Seaway Transit <br /> Center. <br /> The Swift II BRT project will also include project elements to improve safety and reliability to transit service <br /> within the congested travel corridor.To provide improved transit reliability,reduced travel time,and <br /> improved safety for Swiftoperation,roadway improvements are proposed at three locations within the <br /> corridor: 128th Street SW/SE at I-5,northbound SR 527 at 164th Street SE,and southbound SR 527 at SR <br /> 524/208th Street SE.These roadway improvements will include roadway widening,curb and gutter,sidewalk, <br /> retaining walls,traffic signal modifications and relocations,traffic island modifications,storm drainage <br /> installation and modifications,and utility relocations. <br /> Everett Review and Coordination <br /> Community Transit has been working with all of the affected jurisdictions including Everett since spring <br /> 2015. Those efforts have included station siting review,identification and coordination of the associated <br /> roadway improvements,negotiating interagency agreements,and review of the 30%and 60%design level <br /> plans for the Corridor Stations. A copy of our responses to the City's 60%review comments has been <br /> included in this submittal for your reference. <br /> Six (6) of the Swift BRT stations are located within the City of Everett: <br /> • Station#3021 Airport Road at SR 99 northbound; <br /> • Stations#3039 and 3020 Airport Road at 112th Street SW southbound and northbound; <br /> • Stations#3037 and 3018 Airport Road at Kasch Park Road southbound and northbound;and <br /> • Station#3036/3017 Seaway Transit Center northbound/southbound (shelter installations only). <br /> Please note that the Corridor Station plans submitted include only those plan view sheets applicable to the <br /> stations listed above that are within the City of Everett. The detail sheets include details for various stations <br /> within the project corridor and may not apply to every station. <br /> Other Reviews/Approvals <br /> • Community Transit prepared a NEPA Documented Categorical Exclusion(DCE) for this project. The <br /> Federal Transit Administration (FTA)reviewed and concurred with the NEPA documentation on March <br /> 21,2016. Electronic copies of all NEPA documents have been included in this submittal for your <br /> reference. <br /> • Due to delays in permitting for Geotechnical exploration,completion of the Geotechnical report will not <br /> occur until the first of December.
