LIU & ASSOCIATES, INC.
Geotechnical Engineering Engineering Geology Earth Science
April 7,2008
Mr. Don Levin
1339 Mukilteo Boulevard
Everett,WA 98203
Dear Mr. Levin:
Subject: Geotechnical Investigation and Recommendations
Don and Jo Levin Residence
1224 Grand Avenue
Everett, Washington
L&A Job No. 8A037
INTRODUCTION
We understand that the development of a new single-family residence is planned for the site
located at the above address in Everett,Washington. The general location of the site is shown on
Plate 1 —Vicinity Map, attached hereto. The site is bordered by a steep slope on its west side.
We understand that the existing house on the site will be demolished for the development of the
new residence which will be constructed over and expanded slightly beyond the footprint of the
existing house. The new residence will be a wood-framed structure supported on perimeter
concrete foundation walls and interior bearing walls and columns. The new residence is to be
accessed from Grand Avenue via a pave driveway along the north side turning into an attached
garage abutting the rear of the house.
The purpose of this investigation is to characterize the subsurface conditions of the site, evaluate
the stability of the steep slope of the site, and provide recommendations for slope stabilization
and setback of building from the crest of steep slope. This geotechnical investigation is in part
based on the subsurface conditions encountered at an adjacent site at 1134 Grand Ave
19213 Kenlake Place NE • Kenmore, Washington 98028
Phone (425)483-9134 • Fax (425)486-2746
