April 7,2008
Mr.Don Levin
L&A Job No. 8A037
Page 2
(hereinafter referred to as the Reference Site or Reference Project). Presented in this report are
our findings, conclusion and recommendations for the proposed new residence.
SITE CONDITIONS
SURFACE CONDITIONS
The subject site and the Reference Site are both situated near the western edge of a gentle to
moderate,table-top-like plain, flanked to its west by a steep slope. Within both sites, the ground
generally slopes down very gently westward towards the crest of a steep slope which descends at
about 1.5H:1 V inclination for a vertical drop of about 30 to 35 feet to the right-of-way of BNSF
Railroad below.
The subject site is currently occupied in its middle by an existing house which will be
demolished for the construction of the proposed new residence. Currently, the unpaved open
area of the site is mostly covered with lawn grass, with scattered shrubs and brush covering the
adjacent steep slope. There are no discernable signs of soil movement or erosion due to surface
runoff or groundwater seepage on the steep slope.
Geologic Setting and Soil Conditions
Geologic Map of the Everett 7.5-Minute Quadrangle, Snohomish County,Washington, by James
P. Minard, published by U. S. Geological Survey in 1985, was referenced for the geologic and
soil conditions at the site. According to this publication, the surficial soil units at and in the
vicinity of both the subject site and the Reference Site are mapped as Vashon Till(Q, )underlain
by Advance Outwash(Qva).
LIU & ASSOCIATES, INC.
